Hunt launched after burglary spree

Casey Crime Investigation Unit is hunting for raiders who were involved in a series of burglaries in Narre Warren during the morning of Saturday 28 October.
Police say that between 4am and 6am they tried to get into two houses in Penhurst Street and Dunkin Street in Narre Warren while the occupants were home.
“There was a third one where they’ve actually got into the house but have been chased out by the resident,” Detective Senior Constable Peter Warden said.
“There’s been another two where they’ve got in and stolen car keys and stolen cars.
“So they’re all linked, same offenders for all of them,” he said.
He said the raiders allegedly broke into a house in Birchfield Court, Narre Warren, before being chased out of the house.
“It appears that the door was left unlocked by the occupant,” he said.
Det Sen Const Warden said the same people were involved in a burglary at a home in Godwin Avenue in Narre Warren and stole a black Jeep Grand Cherokee, registration 1BT 3OZ.
A screw driver was found which was used to jemmy open the window, he said.
Police said a further burglary occurred at a home in Don Jaun Court in Narre Warren.
“We’re not sure how they gained entry,” he said.
“A sedan stolen from that address, that’s been recovered by us already. The stolen car from Godwin Avenue is still outstanding,” he said.
