Hoon hits pedestrian

By Brendan Rees

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a hoon incident in Cranbourne West which left a 54-year-old Cranbourne West man hospitalised.
Investigators have been told Philip Handby attempted to stop a car on Breens Road about 5.45pm on Saturday 14 October after seeing it being driven erratically.
The car slowed and Mr Handby stepped in front of it to stop it. He was allegedly run down by the car which then drove from the scene, leaving the victim screaming in pain.
Metropolitan TV news reported Mr Handby was out walking as part of his rehabilitation after undergoing recent knee replacement surgery.
Mr Handby was taken to hospital suffering a broken leg.
