A new program aiming to help boost the confidence and communication skills of students, will be rolled out in Casey schools.
YMCA Casey recently announced YMCA Evolve, a leadership and self-development program for students in Grade 6, Year 8 and Year 10.
The program covers a range of modules such as decision making, positive self-identity, personal values, social impact, coping strategies, group dynamics and many other topics that a young person faces every day.
YMCA community engagement co-ordinator Tori Norris said the program will help young people and the Casey community.
“It is very exciting that the YMCA Evolve program is coming to Casey schools. The YMCA believes in the power of inspiring young people and building strong communities in the City of Casey. This program will help do that by building resilience in our community,” Ms Norris said.
Made up of a series of modules, each YMCA Evolve program delivers Victorian Curriculum F-10 and AusVELS curriculum level outcomes.
Ms Norris said the program was designed to be flexible and could be tailored in content and format to suit different schools and their students.
