Students at Lyndhurst Secondary College have been learning about social responsibility by visiting local community groups and organisations.
Year 7 students at the school visited Lynbrook Kindergarten on Friday 21 July to engage with students and gain an understanding of early childhood education.
The high school students read books, played games and worked with the educators to support and learn with the young children who attend the kindergarten.
The project organiser at Lyndhurst Secondary College, Sue Carroll, has organised nine more visits to groups and organisations in the community including Lifeview Willow Wood Retirement Village and at MSFIN (Mums Supporting Families In Need).
“These positive community engagement activities are providing rich and meaningful learning for the students by giving them a real appreciation of life in the wider community,” Ms Carroll said.
The school plans to continue creating more community partnerships into the future to foster life skills in the students and enrich their education with real life learning experiences.
