The Berwick Mechanics Institute and Free Library is holding a book sale. Second-hand books in good condition will be on sale. Stock up for winter reading.

Fresh Words Young Writers Competition

Unleash the storyteller in you and enter the Fresh Words Young Writers Competition. If you are a budding author, journalist or song writer, embrace this opportunity to put your imagination on paper and win some great prizes. Entry is open to Casey’s young people in Grade 5 to Year 12 in the following categories:

  • Creative Writing (maximum 750 words).
  • Poetry/Lyrics (maximum one page).
  • English as a additional language (maximum 750 words).

Entries close Friday 22 September, at 5pm.

Winter Arts Festival: Eco-dying in the garden at Paperworks Gallery

During this two-hour workshop you will learn eco-dyeing techniques and create some beautiful prints on paper and silk. Using natural dyes from the garden, you will create a beautiful silk scarf to take home. All materials, tea, coffee and a delicious morning tea all included.
