Sweet sounds in Berwick

In their first concert of 2017, the Da Capo Singers will be led by music director Elena Varshavskaya in their highly anticipated concert, Echoes from the Past.
One of Melbourne’s most adventurous chamber choirs, the Da Capo Singers have thrilled audiences with their eclectic music, Australian compositions, art music of all periods, folk songs of many cultures, and occasional excursions into gospel and jazz since their formation in 1997.
Captivating audience’s heart and imagination, Echoes from the Past will feature works such as Stabat Mater Pergolesi’s last known composition before his death, Il est bel et bon, a French piece by Pierre Passereau, a variation of the well-known Ave Maria written by Jacob Arcadelt, Claudio Monteverdi’s madrigal Si ch’io vorrei morire, a Thomas Morley arrangement of My Bonny Lass She Smileth and many more works from the Baroque and Renaissance periods.
With credits including performances at Hamer Hall, Etihad Stadium and Rod Laver Arena, as well as the release of two CDs, several tours to regional Victoria, and many performances for local community events and festivals; the Da Capo Singers are sure to impress and delight every audience member.
The Da Capo Singers Echoes from the Past concert will take place on Saturday 17 June at 7.30pm at St Andrews Uniting Church in Berwick and will be followed by a delicious supper. For ticket and booking information please call 0417 808 088 or visit www.trybooking.com/PIJI.
