Cow’s story comes to life

By Victoria Stone-Meadows

Cranbourne kids had an opportunity to participate in National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) at the Cranbourne library on Wednesday 24 May.
NSS invites libraries, schools and kindergartens from all over the country to have story time together to promote literacy and a love of reading.
Casey Councillor Amanda Stapledon also got involved in the event, reading this year’s book The Cow Tripped Over the Moon by Tony Wilson to young children at Cranbourne library.
All branches of Casey Cardinia Libraries held a story time for the event, and Libraries’ Customer Experience manager Beth Luppino said it was just one of the great experiences they offered.
“As well as NSS each year, we continuously champion literacy development by offering not only a wonderful range of books and items for newborns, toddlers, pre-schoolers and teens, but a range of inspiring programs to encourage a love of reading for all ages,” she said.
Star News Photographer Gary Sissons went along to the NSS at Cranbourne library to hear all about the cow’s experiences attempting to jump the moon.
