Berwick shoppers have bought the most hot cross buns in the state with Coles Eden Rise recording more hot cross bun sales than any other store in the lead up to Easter.
The high numbers of sales from this store back the findings of consumer group Choice that found Coles Traditional Fruit Hot Cross Buns to be the most popular.
Coles buns beat out other brands in taste and texture when compared to other supermarket brands, grocers and independent bakeries in an independent taste test.
Coles State General Manager Sarah Hunter said the supermarket only used the finest Australian ingredients in its buns.
“We know our customers want to buy Australian and we are proud our traditional hot cross buns are made with Aussie fruit and flour,” she said.
“Customers can bite into a variety of mouth-watering hot cross buns, including traditional, chocolate, traditional miniature, fruit-free, apple and cinnamon or gluten-free at Coles supermarkets, with all packs just $3.50 each.”
