Chemmart at Shopping on Clyde has hosted an Afternoon Tea(l) for local residents to raise money for research into ovarian cancer on Friday 24 February.
Participants at the tea were encouraged to wear teal as an awareness-raising exercise as well as purchase raffle tickets and donate money to Ovarian Cancer Australia.
Roughly 1400 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer in Australia every year and about 1000 of those women will lose their battle with the disease.
Ovarian cancer can sometimes go undiagnosed for a long time as the symptoms are similar to that of a heavy period or urinary tract infection.
The Afternoon Tea(l) at Shopping on Clyde was organised by Caroyln Wynen of Chemmart who wanted to not only raise money for research into the illness, but raise awareness in the community about it.
