CASEY City council is hosting a number of events across the municipality to celebrate Australia Day on 26 January.
Berwick, Cranbourne, Hampton Park and Tooradin will all have Australia Day events centred on their townships to celebrate the national day.
City of Casey Mayor Sam Aziz said all residents are welcome to attend the events and encourages all the people of Casey to celebrate the day.
“It’s a day where we can come together as a community to celebrate all the great things about Australia and being Australian,” Cr Aziz said.
“Our people, the places, our diversity, sense of fair go, lifestyle, democracy and the freedoms we all enjoy.”
Cr Aziz said Australia Day in the City of Casey is a time for reflection, celebration and harmony between the diverse communities of the region.
“Australia Day is a day for all Australians so whatever your background, join in the celebrations in your local community or get together and celebrate with your family and friends,” Cr Aziz said.
“It’s also a time to reflect on our nation’s history and acknowledge our past, whilst celebrating the present and recommitting to making Australia an even better place in the future.”
