Garden club’s Mad Hatter’s Tea Party

MAD hats and a fancy feast brought community-minded women together in Cranbourne.
The Cranbourne Garden Club hosted the Blooming Mad Hatter’s Tea Party at Cranbourne Public Hall on Thursday 10 November.
Michelle Smith took home first prize for her hat and Adele Flanagan won second prize.
Jean Petrie said the 40-member club meet at the hall at 1.30pm on the second Thursday of the month, except in December and January.
“We have guest speakers every month,” Ms Petrie said.
“We have afternoon tea – we all bring something.
“We have a raffle every month for plants, and we have a trading table that has plants and books.”
The CWA Woorinyan Branch in Upper Beaconsfield catered for the tea party.
“They do catering for all sorts of functions,” Ms Petrie said.
“They donate to charities and do a lot of good work.”
The CWA Woorinyan Branch meet in the afternoon on the fourth Friday of the month at St John’s Church in Upper Beaconsfield.
