FIVE young men have been released from police custody pending further questioning after what is believed to be a targeted attack on a house in Cranbourne South.
About 10.45pm on Thursday 10 November, two young men approached a property on Stone Hill Circuit and proceeded to smash the front windows of the house.
The people inside the house came outside to challenge the two young men and what has been described by police as a ‘Mexican-stand-off’ began.
The two males who had approached the house soon left but returned a short time later with three or more extra people armed with various weapons.
The newcomers chased the occupants of the house back inside and proceeded to smash the windows of the cars that were parked at the front of the house.
The attacking group then fled the scene in a car but were pulled over by police shortly afterwards and taken to the Narre Warren Police Station for questioning.
Police questioned an 18-year-old man from Endeavour Hills, a 20-year-old man from Dandenong North, a 23-year-old man from Hallam, a 17-year-old boy from Pakenham, and a 16-year-old boy from Hampton Park.
No-one has been charged as of Monday 14 November as police investigations are ongoing.
