THE Rotary Club of Cranbourne is gearing up for its 50th consecutive golf day at the Ranfurlie course on Friday 25 November.
Incredibly, all those 50 golf days have been organised by club member Barry ‘Chappie’ Chapman, who was presented with a Paul Harris Fellowship for this outstanding community effort.
The golf days have raised a combined $500,000 over those 50 years, which has been ploughed into worthwhile Rotary projects both locally and abroad.
The fact that the golf day is run by a group of volunteers means all funds raised goes to those in need.
Players enjoy a light luncheon before a 1pm hit-off at Ranfurlie, which has given the club access to the course for the day.
The Ambrose format gives players with all levels of ability the chance to win a wonderful collection of prizes, which include a helicopter flight over Melbourne.
Entry fee is $70 per player, which includes a cooked evening meal.
Entry is open to all comers and bookings can be made through John on 0418 551 924 or Lea on 0419 389 013.
