Lynbrook Lake Lantern Festival

COME and experience the magic of hundreds of floating lanterns on the lake at Lynbrook’s Banjo Paterson Park. Kids will be able to paint their lanterns and join the Lantern Walk at dusk (about 8pm) around the lake for what promises to be a truly magical spectacle. Floating lanterns ($2) and painted lanterns ($3 to $5) available to buy.

Equestrian

HARNESS pleasure horse drivers will test their skills at the 2016 state championships at Akoonah Park, Berwick. Forty-two classes include judging of best buggy and jinker, commercial delivery vehicles, period costume and vehicle, best female and male drivers and also junior drivers.

Myuna Farm

MYUNA Farm in Doveton hosts a produce swap where residents can swap their excess home-grown produce with other participants. Produce swaps are not only for swapping home-grown fruit and vegetables but participants can also bring along items including eggs, seeds and seedlings, flowers and compost. There is no money exchanged just items swapped. New participants are welcome and no bookings are required.

Songs of Andrew Lloyd-Webber

LOCAL artists and the Victorian School of Performing Arts choir are singing an array of songs penned by the composer, Andrew Lloyd-Webber. Accompanied by a string orchestra, this concert will be sure to provide you with a most enjoyable evening of well-known and much-loved music. Bookings through Trybooking will open shortly.

African Drumming with Amadou Kalissa

Amadou presents the rich and vibrant culture of West Africa as he demonstrates a range of djembe and dun dun techniques that he has studied from the Malinke people of Guinea.

PARTICIPATE with more than 100 others in a free five-kilometre timed event every Saturday morning. The event caters for serious runners and for those wanting a jog or even a walk.
