ENJOY action-packed racing, entertainment, giveaways, Fashions on the Field and family fun at the upcoming 2016 TAB Cranbourne Cup Carnival.
The Cranbourne Turf Club is gearing up to host one of the biggest sporting and social events on the Casey calendar, and is encouraging the whole community to join in the celebrations.
Cranbourne’s cup carnival will kick off with night racing for the Inglis Pinker Pinker Plate on Friday 7 October, before the main event on Sunday 9 October – the TAB Cranbourne Cup.
Cup day boasts an action-packed 10-race program, headlined by the feature $300,000 TAB Cranbourne Cup and the $100,000 Procon Developments Apache Cat Classic.
In addition, the club is delighted to announce that platinum selling artist, Joel Fletcher, will perform live on course on Cup Day in the newly established DJ Enclosure. Fresh off the back of recent tours across Europe, Asia and North America, locally raised Joel Fletcher is undoubtedly one of the most exciting talents in his genre. Supporting Joel will be the energetic and unique sounds of Rojdar, Kate Foxx and Jesse James.
Once again, the club has teamed up with Cranbourne Hyundai to giveaway a $20,000 Hyundai i30 at this year’s Cup, with everyone on course given the opportunity to go in the running.
On the day, up to 16 lucky racegoers will be drawn out and each allocated a horse set to race in the TAB Cranbourne Cup. The finalist who has the subsequent winning horse of the Cup will win the car.
The Cranbourne Park Fashions on the Field will be back bigger and better in 2016, with over $8000 worth of prizes up for grabs across two categories – Lady of the Day and Young Lady of the Day.
Fashionable fillies will be competing for a great range of prizes from the major sponsors including South Gippsland Jewellers, Anytime Fitness, Forever New, and many more with a prize pool to the value of $8000.
Cranbourne Turf Club CEO Neil Bainbridge said the TAB Cranbourne Cup Carnival was shaping up to be one of the biggest and best yet.
“Cup day really does offer something for everyone from racing fanatics to those who just want a fun day out, with plenty of action on and off the track to keep patrons young and old entertained,” he said.
“We are very excited that international DJ and locally raised Joel Fletcher will perform on course, along with X Factor finalist Andrew Wishart.”
“From a racing perspective, we’re offering $300,000 in prizemoney for the TAB Cranbourne Cup, while also offering a $1 million bonus to connections of a horse that can win both the TAB Cranbourne Cup and Cox Plate, so the feature race is sure to attract a top class field.
“Trackside, we’ve got Cranbourne Park Fashions on the Field, great hospitality packages, entertainment, a car giveaway and plenty of children’s rides and activities, so it really is day the whole family can enjoy.
“The TAB Cranbourne Cup has cemented itself as one of the great country events during the Spring Racing Carnival and provides the Casey community the chance to enjoy the thrill of racing close to home.”
