Live baiting video released

VIDEO evidence submitted to the greyhound live baiting hearing this week has been released by animal-rights campaigners.
It shows a live rabbit being strapped to a greyhound training lure and then a greyhound being released to chase the lure and maul the rabbit.
The same rabbit, still alive, is then subjected to the ordeal for a second time.
During the hearing, Frankston magistrate Rodney Crisp said the charged men were “habituated to cruelty” and that referees for one of the accused had not shown any remorse for the mistreatment of the bait animals.
Three prominent greyhound racing identities were disqualified for five years from owning or training racing greyhounds after pleading guilty to live-baiting at the former Tooradin Trial Track at the Frankston Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 18 August.

This video contains graphic images of live baiting which viewers will find disturbing.
