OCCUPANTS of a Hampton Park home were woken up when rubbish in their front yard was blown up and shattered their front bedroom window.
The explosion and subsequent fire at an address on Ellaswood Court was extinguished by the CFA on Monday 8 August about 1.15am.
Police and firefighters arrived at the scene to find a resident trying to put out the burning rubbish with a bucket of water.
Police believe an accelerate was used to start the fire.
The residents told police they saw a couple of people walking away from the scene.
Casey police and CFA are conducting an investigation into the explosion.
