Drive-by shooting follows brick missile attack

By GEORGIA WESTGARTH

SHOTS were fired at a Cranbourne West property after a brick was thrown at a window of the house just two weeks earlier.
Occupants of the Copernicus Circuit house woke to gunfire around 2am on Monday 25 July and noticed a bullet hole through a front bedroom window. They told police that they don’t know why they are being targeted.
After the shooting, an unknown person began knocking on the front door but said nothing, and the residents didn’t respond.
Judging by the broken brick work to the front of the house, police believe there may have been two shots fired.
Two weeks prior to the shooting, a brick was thrown at the house, damaging a front window.
Police, who were called to the scene immediately after the firearms incident, conducted a search, but no one was found.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing, and police urge anyone with information to come forward and contact Narre Warren police on 9705 3111.
