A THIRTEEN-year-old boy was lucky to have slept in his own bed last night.
The Cranbourne school boy was approached and chased by a man dressed in black and wearing a black balaclava, on Sunday 17 July, in Narre Warren South.
The youth was walking alone along The Esplanade about 5.20pm when a white Holden sedan slowed down beside him.
The offender, described as overweight, grabbed the boy by the wrist, while another man had the car running.
The teenager kicked the offender in the shin and ran 100 metres with the perpetrator following him before the man got into the car and fled the scene.
The white Holden was last seen travelling north on The Esplanade.
The driver of the car was described as an “elderly” Caucasian male, with a long greying beard and a black zip up jumper with a Harley Davidson logo on the front.
Another white Holden sedan was spotted in the same vicinity at the time of the attempted kidnapping. No registration plates were recorded and police are conducting an investigation.
The boy’s dad was called to the scene and police attended, but no-one was traced.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Narre Warren police station as soon as possible on 9705 3111.
