Strange man in the home

By GEORGIA WESTGARTH

A WOMAN alone in her Hallam home was woken to a man wearing a dark coloured hooded jumper in her passageway.
The female victim was in bed at the time of the home invasion and yelled at the man to get out.
The offender who was wearing dark coloured clothing at the time grabbed her mobile phone as he exited through the back door, down the driveway and onto Charles Avenue.
Another member of the household was asleep during the terrifying aggravated burglary in a bungalow at the rear of the property.
No-one was injured in the invasion.
The dog squad was called to the property after the incident on Wednesday 6 July about 4.30am, but no-one was found.
Detective Senior Sergeant Rob Clark from Narre Warren police station said that Casey residents should be “alert not alarmed” by the ongoing home invasions.
“It’s not common for them to be violent in these types of situations; people should keep their properties secure at night as it makes access more difficult,” Det Clark said.
“We want people to be conscious of security.”
