Have your say for pet plan

CASEY council’s management of dogs and cats is set to be redesigned, and council is after feedback from the community.
A new Domestic Animal Management Plan is currently under development, which will guide council’s animal management over the next four years.
City of Casey Mayor Sam Aziz said feedback was “vital” to the development of the plan.
“With more than 27,000 dogs and 7500 cats registered in Casey, council wants to hear from pet owners, non-pet owners and pet-related businesses on issues that affect them,” Cr Aziz said.
“Given Casey’s large population and continued growth, there is a need for a considered approach to domestic animal management issues. This takes into consideration the welfare of dogs and cats, protection of the community and environment from nuisance pets and the promotion of responsible pet ownership.”
Residents can have their say by completing council’s survey and sharing their ideas at www.caseyconversations.com.au/casey-pets until 22 July 2016.
Casey residents that complete the survey have the option to go into the draw to win a $200 Westfield voucher.
