WHAT was initially reported as possible human remains found at the Hampton Park tip could have been a part of a mannequin.
Police wrapped up their two-day investigation at the tip site on Hallam Road on Tuesday 21 June.
A spokeswoman from Victoria Police said a search was undertaken on Tuesday and a risk assessment but nothing was found.
“A number of mannequins were located in the vicinity of the search and maybe were what was initially sighted,” she said.
Police were alerted to the situation at the Sita Environmental Solutions tip on Monday 20 June, after a worker reported seeing what looked like a body part but was unable to retrieve it before incoming rubbish was dumped.
Police excavated the site on Monday and resumed the search the following morning.
