Thieves target display homes

Victoria Stonemeadows

A SPATE of burglaries at display homes along Flowerbloom Crescent in Clyde North, has prompted builders to employ 24 hour security.
One of the burglaries occurred between 5.30pm on Friday 13 May and 9.30am Saturday 14 May, when unknown offenders smashed a bedroom window to enter the property.
Another burglary occurred about 3am on Saturday 21 May when unknown offenders gained entry by smashing the front door of a display property.
Another burglary took place about 4.30am on Sunday 22 May, when the unknown offenders forced entry via the front door.
Another burglary occurred between 10pm on Tuesday 24 May and 7am Wednesday 25 May, when the unknown offenders gained entry to the display home via forced entry through the garage.
In each incident the thieves stole a television and set off the monitored alarm system.
Police are seeking at least two men of Maori or Islander appearance who were wearing hooded tops at the time of the burglaries.
A white Holden Station Wagon has been identified at the scene of some of the burglaries and police believe there is a third offender who rides a motorbike as part of the group of thieves.
Anyone with any information regarding these burglaries are urged to contact Casey CIU on 9705 3111 or make an anonymous report at www.crimestoppers.com.au
