Woman killed in smash

A WOMAN was killed in a two-car collision in Cranbourne South Monday morning 16 May.

A man believed to be aged in his fifties has been taken to hospital for observation.

Police investigating the circumstances leading to the crash believe two cars travelling along North Road collided head on near the intersection of Pearcedale Road, about 9.10am.

The female driver and sole occupant of the vehicle died at the scene.

The male driver was transferred to hospital.

Major Collision Investigation Unit police are en route to the scene.

This year, 112 lives have been lost on the road compared with 99 this time last year.
