I RECENTLY received an invitation from my local Cranbourne MP Jude Perera to attend a community forum on public transport at the Balla Balla Community Centre.
While I know that extra bus services were certainly a pre-election promise and I am glad to see some action.
Much to my surprise, this forum turned out to be organised by not by Mr Perera but by Public Transport Victoria (PTV).
It was one of a number of ways they were consulting with the community about changes to the bus services in the area.
Yet the invite asked for an RSVP to Mr Perera, not to the PTV.
When asked who paid for the event, the centre refused to divulge the information, citing ‘privacy’ concerns.
So, Mr Perera, were you being honest in claiming this as your event? I think a little transparency might go a long way.
Rob Ward,
Cranbourne North.
