Take 10

With Kay Coram, a volunteer at Balla Balla Community Centre

What is something people don’t know about you?
I have an enormous phobia of butterflies and moths. Give me snakes and spiders anytime.

What was your most memorable moment?
Lunch in the Grand Canyon 2012 – with champagne, not bad for someone who doesn’t drink.

What would your last meal be?
Crumbed sausages and salad. (Yes, you can crumb ’em with great difficulty!)

What event, past, present or future, would you like to witness?
The age of the dinosaurs – they absolutely fascinate me!

What is your favourite television show?
Once Upon a Time. A wonderful series still running on digital TV.

What is your favourite book?
The Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. I’m partial to 17th century kilted warriors.

What six guests, dead or alive, would you invite to a dinner party?
President Obama, my mum and dad, my step-mum – a great combo that!!! My maternal grandfather to learn the family tree and Mother Theresa.

What has been your most embarrassing moment?
Falling badly and ruining my and my daughter’s New Zealand holiday – (Oh, and swearing badly on the way down).

What era would you like to live in?
I am happy with the era that I was born into, the ’50s. We had the best music and movies and people were so nice. No drugs (well maybe Bex powders) and on the cusp of wonderful technology.

What was your first or best concert?
I loved John Farnham in concert before his “comeback” and I absolutely adored the Edinburgh Military Tattoo showing in Melbourne recently.

Anyone can be a Take 10 subject and give their answers to our list of light-hearted questions. To take part email the News at dailyeditor@starnewsgroup.com.au or phone Georgia Westgarth on 5945 0612.
