Bomb scare empties building

CRANBOURNE Centrelink has been evacuated after a suspicious locked suitcase was left outside the building, on Tuesday morning 5 April.
The small black case, with a sticker on it, was found in the gutter directly out the front of Centrelink, on Codrington Street, by a security guard.
Police were called in about 10.30am and closed off the area between Sladen and Childers streets.
Staff from Centrelink and Waters Lawyers were evacuated and the bomb squad is currently on scene.
Senior Sergeant Daniel Baynes told Star News the incident was definitely not terrorism related, but said the package was suspicious due to its location.
He said it was a concern that the bag’s owner had not been found.
