CRANBOURNE’S quilters are out in force at the St John Anglican Church and celebrating the return of the Gallipoli triptych.
The bunch of creative sewers will have 60 quilts on show from Friday 1 to Saturday 2 April, in the group’s second expo.
Quilter Diane Mitchell, who started the group three years ago, said there was something for everyone.
“The quilts are exquisite, we’ve got modern and traditional quilts on show along with art quilts and a couple done by children,” Ms Mitchell said.
“We also have quilting shops selling their goods here as well, so it’s well worth the trip.”
All proceeds from the two-day event will go to the Blairlogie Living and Learning project.
Convenor of the quilt study of Victoria Janet O’Dell will also be speaking about early Victorian and vintage quilts.
The Anzac centenary triptych will also be on display after traveling around the nation, visiting RSL branches.
The statement piece of community artwork is four metres wide by two and half metres deep and with 4888 two-inch squares making up the Gallipoli landscape.
The event will run from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 2 April and entry costs $5.
