CRANBOURNE East is Australia’s largest growing suburb.
Australian Bureau of Statistics show the established region expanded by 88 people per week last financial year.
Cranbourne East resident of five years and O’Brien Real Estate agent Mina Saad said he was not surprised.
“It’s like a city of its own … the market is pretty stable, houses are a year to 12 years old, and its value for money you can’t beat,” Mr Saad said.
“Cranbourne East has all the amenities around it you need, if you live in Cranbourne East you don’t have to go anywhere else and its expanding on top of that.”
The area is home to some of the region’s most popular estates including the Hunt Club, with its own shopping village and childcare centre.
“Every new estate in Cranbourne East has its own shopping centre and I honestly don’t think it needs any more infrastructure, it’s got all it could possibly need,” Mr Saad said.
The data revealed the number of people living on Melbourne’s fringe is growing at a rate faster than the rest of the nation.
However Mr Saad said the desirable large blocks of land were gradually becoming harder to find.
“Areas like the Hunt Club and Cascades on Clyde have the biggest blocks and Mayfield Living and Livingston toward Selandra Rise are mostly around 300 to 400 square metres,” Mr Saad said.
