Kids hit the airwaves

By GEORGIA WESTGARTH

THEY’VE had Mike Larkin and now they want Kochie!
Parents from St Therese’s Primary School enjoyed their annual picnic barbecue, broadcast by Ten Eyewitness News so much, that next year they want to see Sunrise’s Kochie front and centre.
Ten News weather presenter, Mike Larkin, broadcast from the Cranbourne North school on Monday 7 March and parent organiser Jayne Smith said he was a big hit with the students.
“The children were so excited to get on TV, and Mike spent a lot of time chatting and taking photos with them,” Ms Smith said.
“Our PE teacher ran some sports activities after the barbecue and it was a fantastic welcoming event for new families.
“The Ten News crew even stayed back after the live broadcast and took students through the van and showed them how it all works.”
Mike Larkin presents the weather from a different Melbourne school every Monday.
