Blue Light Disco
THE Cranbourne Blue Light Disco will be run as normal for students in school years four to eight on Saturday 20 February from 6pm to 9pm. But that will be the last of its kind. The disco ages will change to satisfy concerned parents from Friday 11 March. The disco will be broken up into junior and senior events and will alternate each month. Juniors age from grade six and under and seniors from year seven to 10. High school students will need to present an ID card upon entry.

Community loans
MICROFINANCE at Casey North CISS has expanded with the addition of the StepUp loan program provided by South East Community Links. Households can now access small personal loans of up to $3000 for everyday needs such as cars, car repairs, emergency medical expenses and education fees at a low interest rate. Smaller loans are also available at CNCISS and are an affordable way for low income households to pay for essential items.

Hallam Senior Citizens Centre

Grass workshop
THE first all-day workshop by the Cranbourne Friends for 2016 will focus on Australian grasses and other allied relatives such as rushes, sedges, lomandras as well as members in the very ornamental iris family such as diplarrena, libertia and patersonia.
This workshop will help participants to develop new gardening skills and learn about how grasses and their lookalikes add a different texture to a garden and are extremely important for habitat as well as a food source for many insects and birds.

Gigantic garage sale
BRIC-a-brac, china, clothing and furniture are just some of the items up for sale at the Gigantic Garage Sale in support of the Leukaemia Foundation of Australia. Donations are welcome.

Summer festival
PRESENTED by the Lions Club, the Summer Community Festival runs over three days and includes live music, amusements and rides for all ages. There will be a fireworks display at 9.30pm.

Botanic park groove
GET into the groove with live music at Wilson Botanic Park Berwick every Saturday night until 19 March.
Each Saturday night between 6pm and 9pm the park will have live musical entertainment in a range of genres for residents to enjoy from solo acoustic artists to large bands.
The event is suitable for all ages.
Cost is $5 and people can BYO their own food and drink as there will be no refreshments available to purchase.
Alcohol must be consumed responsibly.

Food truck carnival
THIS year marks the start of the Berwick Food Truck Carnival, a free foodie event to enjoy with friends and family.
The carnival will run for four days and include iconic food trucks, such as Mr Burger, a carnival bar selling beer, wine, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages, eating competitions for the adults and music and live performances throughout the day.
There will also be a dedicated kids’ entertainment area including games and activities, a petting zoo, face painting and performances.

Park run
PARTICIPATE with more than 100 others in a free five-kilometre timed event every Saturday morning. The event caters for serious runners and for those wanting a jog or even a walk.

Ultimate ABBA Show
GOLD is the name of the newest ABBA tribute show to hit Dandenong. Dancing Queen: The 40th Anniversary Tour has been staged around Australia and performed to more than 20,000 people since it started in 2014.

Walk the centre
CRANBOURNE Park offers health walks where participants are taken by a qualified instructor from the YMCA.
Registrations can be taken on the day and participants are encouraged to wear loose fitting clothes and comfortable walking shoes.
