On for Swimathon

CASEY residents will take to the water in the YMCA’s national Swimathon to raise funds for locals living with a disability.
This year Casey Arc and Casey RACE have joined forces, promising that 100 per cent of the proceeds will stay in the Casey community.
The annual event raised $2600 last year and this year’s aim is to secure more than $3000 for Casey residents.
Casey Arc manager Travis Sauer said the money will go towards installing new equipment for swimmers with disabilities, providing swimming lessons, and up-skilling swim instructors.
“The great part about this event is that it’s not just for our Learn to Swim members but is open to everyone, you don’t even need to enter events,” he said.
Casey Arc is expecting hundreds of people to join in on the fun on Sunday 28 February.
The fundraiser will include a swimming carnival, blow up inflatables, access to the wave pool and the opportunity to take to the water in a zorb ball.
