Upgrade in the works

WORKS to upgrade netball and basketball courts in Cranbourne East are set to start next month.
The $18 million redevelopment to the facilities at the Casey Indoor Leisure Centre will include five new courts, spectator seating for 1500 people and a cafe.
Casey Mayor Sam Aziz officially opened works at the centre on Wednesday 20 January.
“The multi-million dollar expansion and redevelopment will not only benefit local residents but will attract athletes and sporting clubs from across Victoria,” Cr Aziz said.
“It will improve the capacity of our netball and basketball clubs to offer professionally run competitions.”
Jointly funded through Casey council and the State Government, the leisure centre will also see an upgrade to its car park, change rooms, bathrooms and foyer.
