POLICE are investigating after two BMWs were stolen from inside a Cranbourne mechanic’s shop over the weekend, with the thieves also stealing the garage’s CCTV hard drive to cover their tracks.
A silver 2006 BMW X5 and a blue 2006 BMW Coupe were stolen from Auto Care on the South Gippsland Highway sometime between 6.30pm on Friday 4 December and 9.30am on Saturday 5 December.
The thieves broke into the store through the glass front door, took the car keys hanging from a hook and stole the two cars which were in the process of being repaired.
They also stole a CCTV hard drive before fleeing the garage.
It’s understood another two cars were in the garage at the time, but they weren’t stolen.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or make a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
