School funds provide best chance for success

By LACHLAN MOORHEAD

FOUNTAIN Gate Primary is one of 14 Casey schools set to share in $2.7 million in extra State Government funding.
Narre Warren North MP Luke Donnellan visited Fountain Gate Primary this month when he announced the new funding.
“Making Victoria the Education State starts with our local schools,” Mr Donnellan said.
“This extra investment is exactly what schools in Narre Warren North need. It means more confidence for every parent and the best chance for every child.”
The other schools to benefit from the funding boost include Gleneagles Secondary College, Narre Warren North Primary School, Southern Cross Primary School, Dandenong Valley Special Developmental School, Oatlands Primary School, Thomas Mitchell Primary School, Mossgiel Park Primary School, Timbarra P-9 College, Maramba Primary School, Fleetwood Primary School, Hallam Primary School, Fountain Gate Secondary College, Fountain Gate Primary School, and Hallam Senior Secondary College.
The announcement comes as the State Government also introduced a new $10 million Inclusive Schools Fund, which aims to help government schools better support the social and educational needs of children with a disability.
Applications are now open, with successful projects due to be announced by the end of the year.
Schools can download the guidelines and application form for the Inclusive Schools Fund at www.education.vic.gov.au/specialneedsplan
Applications close on 16 November.
