Making up for lost time

By LACHLAN MOORHEAD

FOURTEEN-YEAR-OLD Jade Robson-Whitehouse was found in Minyip on Saturday night and is now safe with her parents.
A spokesman for Victoria Police confirmed Jade was found by Stawell detectives in Minyip, in Victoria’s north-west.
But due to an ongoing investigation her step-mum Tracey Whitehouse could not say who Jade had been with in the last three weeks since she disappeared from her Junction Village home on 3 October.
Tracey confirmed that she and husband Kim Whitehouse, who were in Adelaide looking for Jade at the time, received a call about 10pm on Saturday telling them their daughter had been found.
The teenager has received medical attention and is in a stable condition.
Tracey said she and Kim “broke down crying” when they finally saw Jade again.
“We are overwhelmed and happy she’s back, I can’t even give you the words,” she told Star News.
“We’re relieved she’s safe.”
On the night she went missing Jade had invited another girl to her house to sleepover, someone her parents Tracey and Kim Whitehouse say they had never met before.
It’s believed Jade had been contacting the girl through social media.
That same night Tracey went to put on a pair of shoes and when she returned to the room where the two girls had been, they were gone.
“It’s a long road to recovery, for everyone concerned,” Tracey said.
“It’s not just that she’s gone for three weeks and its now back to normal life, there’s a lot of work and counselling involved.”
