Haydn makes the cut as the man they want to meet

By GEORGIA WESTGARTH

MOVE over Bachelor Australia there’s a new country boy in town and he knows fresh meat when he sees it.
Melbourne’s first ‘Butchelor’ competition has named Tooradin’s GK Meats apprentice, Haydn Tracey-Shaw the hottest of all.
The 20-year-old entered the Fox FM quest for love last week and after radio personalities Fifi and Dave took the public’s votes into “consideration” Haydn was named the Butchelor on Thursday morning.
The third-year apprentice and manager of the gourmet butcher said he is ecstatic to be named the Butchelor.
“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to possibly meet the love of my life,” he said.
With Melbourne’s dating scene often resembling that of a meat market, Haydn said he’s never been head over heels in love.
“I’ve been single for over a year but it’s never been serious,” Haydn said.
On the hunt for a pair of “pretty blue eyes, a good smile” and someone who can hold an interesting conversation, Haydn said he’s open to whatever comes his way.
“I’ll be on FOX FM on Friday morning hopefully talking to ladies on air and I may even get a holiday to the Whitsundays with the lucky girl,” he said.
A Casey Grammar School graduate, Haydn said he loves his job.
“I didn’t choose the butcher life the butcher life chose me,” he said.
“I’ve always loved the customer service aspect of this job and my dad was a slaughterman, so I’ve grown up in this field and live on a farm in Cardinia.”
The man of the hour Haydn said he’s on “bragging rights” at the moment.
“I’ve told pretty much everyone who’s walked in the door,” he said.
GK Meats in Tooradin is also running its own dating side show.
“We are holding a competition to go on a date with me if you spend $100 or more in store,” Haydn said.
For your chance at love with Haydn the butcher drop into the Tooradin store or call FOX FM on Friday 23 October.
