Roof fire clears golf club

IT’S believed about 50 people were evacuated from the Amstel Golf Club in Cranbourne on Monday 14 September after a fire erupted in the roof cavity.
A police investigation into the blaze was underway and a spokesperson from Victoria Police said the fire was not believed to be suspicious.
“An arson chemist will attend to determine the exact cause,” they said.
No-one was injured in the blaze, with fire trucks attending the scene about 1pm today. The fire was reported under control about 1.15pm and fire trucks left the scene about 1.40pm.
