CLAD in white dresses and tiaras, and suits and ties, 26 students from Marnebek School twirled and curtsied their way through an unforgettable Friday night.
In front of family and friends, 13 couples from the dual mode school, which caters for students with high needs and intellectual disabilities, were presented to society in the school’s fifth debutante ball.
In between meals, the Year 10 and 11 students danced the cha-cha, jive and waltz, at Amberlee Receptions in Cranbourne, and debutante co-ordinator at the school Nicole Dinsdale said the evening was “amazing”.
“The students had been practising after school for nine weeks and absolutely loved the experience,” Ms Dinsdale said.
Buzzing with chatter on Monday 14 September after the ball, Ms Dinsdale said the girls felt like princesses and “certainly looked it” on the night.
“They all did me proud,” she said.
