CRANBOURNE Police are on the hunt for the owner of a distinctive Holden VT Commodore after a petrol drive-off on Sunday 19 July.
The man attended a service station on Dandenong-Hastings Road in Cranbourne West around 4.05am and police believe the car had false registration plates of UWI-933.
Constable Wade Palmer from the Cranbourne Police Station said the thief’s gold car was distinctive and likely to be recognised.
“Looking at the CCTV footage it appears the car has large alloy wheels, possibly 19 inches in size which would make it easy to spot,” Const Palmer said.
Investigators have released an image of the vehicle and the man they wish to speak to in the hope that someone will be able to identify him.
