ON ITS first trip down-under Cirque Africa will land in Lyndhurst later this month.
Having toured the globe for eight years and performed in Hollywood and for Dolly Parton in France, the new show will tour Australia and New Zealand for the next two years.
Director Lindani Berman said audiences can expect some high energy performances.
“This show has been specially put together for Australia and hasn’t been performed before,” Mr Berman said.
The 90-minute performance combines acrobatics, theatre, song and dance and Mr Berman said it is a great celebration of African culture.
“We have selected the best of our artists to create this show,” he said.
The highly-skilled cast is made up of 38 aerial artists, jugglers, stilt dancers, contortionists and clowns from Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia, Ghana, The Gambia and Zimbabwe.
The cast will be dressed in more than 200 bespoke African costumes and will be joined by an eight piece live band.
The African extravaganza lands at the Marriot Waters Shopping Centre on Friday 24 July and will be there until Sunday 23 August.
