Wanted man caught fleeing

A MAN wanted for months on a number of outstanding warrants was finally caught after he tried to flee police at the Springhill Shopping Centre on the weekend.
The 24-year-old, wanted on several warrants in relation to drug and traffic offences, was chased by four policemen at the Cranbourne shopping centre as he tried to run away, but was soon arrested after a short chase and a scuffle outside the public toilets around 11am on Sunday 24 May.
The man was expected to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court this week in relation to the warrants, as well as several offences alleged to have occurred while he tried to escape from police.
These include threats to kill, two counts of criminal damage, unlawful assault, contravening conduct conditions, failing to answer bail and allegations he was in possession of stolen property when he was arrested.
It’s understood the man frequented the Cranbourne North area but had no fixed address.
