Somyurek stands aside

South Eastern Metropolitan Region upper house MP Adem Somyurek has stood aside as minister for small business amid bullying claims.
Mr Somyurek is under investigation after complaints by his chief of staff.
Mr Somyurek has denied any allegation of misconduct.
He issued a statement on Saturday confirming that he had voluntarily stood aside until the completion of a review into the matter by the Department of Premier and Cabinet.
In the statement Mr Somyurek said he welcomed the review and the opportunity to clear his name.
South Eastern Metropolitan Region includes Berwick, Cranbourne, Dandenong, Narre Warren, Springvale and Noble Park.
Mr Somyurek has represented the area in Parliament since 2002.
