Club colours get the nod

FOUR Cranbourne sports clubs will be dressed for success this season thanks to almost $4000 in grants.
Blue Hills Bowls Club in Cranbourne East, Cranbourne Junior Football Club and Lyndhurst Junior Football Club will each receive $1000 while Cranbourne Bowling Club will receive $922 through the Sporting Uniform Grants Program.
The State Government initiative gives clubs the chance to replace old kits with new team tops and shorts, socks and even footy boots.
Cranbourne MP Jude Perera said club colours represented achievement, a sense of belonging and community traditions.
“Our local area has a proud history of producing fine athletes,” Mr Perera said.
Sport Minister John Eren said the grants took pressure of families and ensured everyone could connect with their community through sport.
“Athletes get a real sense of pride when they don their club colours to represent their community,” he said.
