Cooking with dad

Annual plant giveaway
THE City of Casey plant giveaway is for Casey ratepayers who can receive two free indigenous plants for the backyard. The council funded event is to help the community contribute to the council’s growing a green web program which aims to form a green network across the City of Casey.

Netball clinics
ASPIRING netballers can take their skills to the court with a term two netball clinics running every Thursday at the Cranbourne Indoor Sports for boys and girls aged seven and above.

Mental health
GROW is offering a unique 12 step recovery focused program to those suffering from stress, anxiety, depression and other emotional difficulties. Gold coin donation appreciated.

Ageing positively
A DEMENTIA and caring program designed for carers and family members of those living at home with the disease. Held over three weeks, the program covers dementia symptoms, how to positively manage changes and discusses how the disease can affect carers and family members.

Blokes talk workshop
WHAT is ’a real man’ anyway? What have I got to lose by asking for directions or support? In this interactive presentation man myths and stereotypes are discussed as well as identity, masculinity, health and wellbeing, parenting and fatherhood.

Recycling tour
TAKE a tour to follow recycling. First stop is the Materials Recovery Facility where the City of Casey’s kerbside recycling is sorted. Next stop is a tour of the VISY box factory to learn more about recycling household material into new products and the last stop is REPLAS to see the recycling of soft plastics, such as plastic bags and cling wrap from special collections at places like supermarkets. Lunch, drinks and snacks are provided. The bus tour will depart and return to the City of Casey Civic Centre. Participants must be over 18 to attend.

Bowls and bingo
HALLAM Senior Citizens Centre is open Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday and offer carpet bowls, bingo, games, club room events and day tours. New members are welcome.

Learn how to play mahjong
ONCE enough people are interested mahjong classes will be held. Mahjong is a Chinese game played by four people with 136 or 144 rectangular pieces called tiles.
– The classes will be held on Fridays between 1pm and 3pm at the U3A rooms at 3/65 Berwick-Cranbourne Road, opposite Casey Race Swimming Pool. Casey Cavaliers market
THIRTY boys and girls are currently fundraising to go to America to play college basketball for three weeks. Aged between 14 and 18, the young ballers and the Casey Cavaliers will hold a market to help fundraise their trip. The day will hold a large variety of food, clothing, children’s toys, baby goods, skin care and linen stalls well as bric-a-brac and trash and treasure.
