SOUTH East Football Netball League Operations Manager Liz Triffitt (left) was this year’s guest speaker at BEACONSFIELD’s annual ‘Ladies Day Luncheon’ held at Holm Park Reserve on Saturday. Organised by club treasurer Denise McGowan (right) the event, ran in conjunction with the Pink Football and Netball round, aimed to support and raise awareness for Breast Cancer Network Australia. The club donated $5 from all tickets sold to BCNA and raised additional funds with raffles throughout the day. Liz spoke to the 130-strong crowd about her and her family’s personal experience with cancer and the importance of early detection for both men and women. She urged the women at the event to make appointments for their husbands or partners if they had any concerns about their health at all. 138501 Picture: DAVID NAGEL
