Ice in the car

By LACHLAN MOORHEAD

A MAN arrested in Hampton Park who was allegedly found with the drug ice in his car was already wanted by police on an outstanding warrant.
The car was intercepted by police in Parkland Avenue during a routine check on Thursday, 30 April around 12.30pm.
A police spokesperson said a search of the car found bags of what appeared to be the drug ice, a type of methamphetamine.
The officers soon discovered the man was already wanted on an outstanding warrant related to previous drug charges.
The man was charged with possession of a drug of dependence and has been remanded to appear in court on Thursday.
Cranbourne Police Sergeant Neil Herbert warned the community that officers were actively targeting drug users and traffickers in the area.
“The drug ice is particularly dangerous and addictive, affecting the mental state of the user, often leading to aggression and violent offending,” he said.
