COLES will employ more than 100 team members at its new market-style supermarket in the Cranbourne Park Shopping Centre, and the store opens next week.
Making up the team of more than 100 at the new store will be 17 people who are new to Coles, 80 odd team members from the original Coles Cranbourne store plus eight team members who will come from other Coles stores.
One staffer making the switch from the former Cranbourne store is officer in charge, Debbie Newman, who this year will celebrate 42 years at Coles – proving there is still such a thing as a job for life.
Officially opening on Thursday 26 March, the bigger and better Coles supermarket will provide shoppers with a wider range of products and great value.
Measuring 3400 square metres in size, the new Cranbourne Park store is larger than the previous one and will include an in-store Liquorland.
Shoppers will be offered a range of new concepts across the store, including MIX Apparel, a brand new gourmet delicatessen with a self-service cheese and olive bar as well as fresh fruit and vegetables displayed on ice for freshness.
A ‘slice on request’ service will be available across both the bakery and meat departments, giving shoppers the choice of freshly sliced bread or juicy steaks, perfect for the barbecue.
Hundreds of new products across a range of international cuisines and flavours have been included to cater to local customers’ needs, with expanded Asian, Indian, UK and Mexican ranges expected to be particularly popular.
Coles Cranbourne Park Store manager Kallyn Blyth said he was looking forward to unveiling the new store and welcoming local shoppers to Coles in the new extension of the Cranbourne Park Shopping Centre.
“We can’t wait to show locals how incredible this new store looks. We are really excited to be a part of the new wave of Coles stores launching around the country and we look forward to providing shoppers with fantastic produce and groceries at great value,” he said.
Coles State general manager for Victoria, Leah Weckert, said Coles was delighted to be opening the new store in March.
“We are excited to be creating new job opportunities and employing more than 100 team members at the store. We look forward to unveiling a bigger and better supermarket at the Cranbourne Park Shopping Centre which will offer a greater range of fresh food and groceries for local customers as well as catering to different tastes and diets,” she said.
The store will open Thursday 26 March at 9am. Coles Cranbourne Park is located in the Cranbourne Park Shopping Centre, 125 South Gippsland Highway, Cranbourne, VIC 3977. The store will be open from 6am – midnight, seven days a week.
