Lightning Storm hits Pakenham

ELITE Victorian Netball League action comes to Pakenham again with the Round-9 clash between our own Monash University Storm and Melbourne University Lightning, and all three high-standard games will no doubt be an inspiration to all who attend.
Ally Kilpatrick, Kaela Hughes, Hanna Flanders and Kasey Teakle all play in the Monash University Storm 19-and-under squad – currently sitting fourth on the VNL ladder – and looking forward to their clash with Lightning. Tayla Shannon has been elevated to the Championship Squad for Monash Storm, and is currently enjoying the challenge of playing at the highest state level. All players were previously Gippsland Storm players.
Gippsland Storm Elite Netball Development Club (Monash Storm’s development club) will again be hosting the event.
“This is one of the best parts of our alignment with Monash – the ability to bring this level of our great sport to our region on a regular basis.” Gippsland Storm President Brendan Murnane said.
“Last year we had around 300 netball fans attend and this year we are sure it will be bigger again.”
Many ex-Gippsland Storm players will be taking the court for Monash Storm as every year the presence of the Gippsland regions players grows – six players in 2015.
All the action will be at Cardina Life Pakenham with under-11 and under-13 curtain raiser games from 6pm and the main games starting at 7pm. There will be music, great netball and a chance to win tickets to see the Vixens play in Melbourne.
To win the tickets spectators are asked to bring along their own poster made to support Monash Storm. The poster judged best on the night will win its creator this great prize.
Entry is $5 for adults and $2 for under 18s.
