Breaking bread with foodies

TWO renowned authors and TV presenters will take to a different type of stage this month as Matthew Evans and Nick Haddow get set to entertain guests at the next Casey Cardinia Breakfast.
The two ‘foodies’ and television personalities will speak at the event scheduled for Wednesday 11 March at the Cranbourne Golf Club.
Matthew Evans hosts the popular SBS TV series Gourmet Farmer, now in its third season.
Now a Tasmanian resident, the qualified chef owns a small farm where he grows and prepares his own produce.
He is the author of nine books on food including Real Food Companion, his autobiography Never Order Chicken on a Monday and The Weekend Cook.
Also set to take the stage will be highly regarded entrepreneur Nick Haddow who founded Bruny Island Cheese Co. in 2003.
Also a qualified chef, his obsession with cheese has taken him around the world after it all started when he was given a bucket of fresh goat milk.
Proudly presented by the Casey Cardinia region, Melbourne Football Club and Monash University, the series is supported by Telstra, Telstra Business Centre Casey Cardinia, the City of Casey, Cardinia Shire Council, the Victorian Government through Small Business Victoria, and media partner Star News Group.
City of Casey Mayor Mick Morland has thrown his support behind what will be the first of four business breakfasts for this year.
“The business breakfasts are always popular and often sell out. They offer great value and entertainment, and give attendees wonderful insight into some of the best business minds in the country,” he said.
“The events also give local business operators the opportunity to network, make new contacts, expand their client base, be inspired and come up with new business ideas while enjoying a delicious hot breakfast.”
Tickets to the event are $55 per person (including GST), or $700 (including GST) for businesses to sponsor a table for 10 people. The cost includes a full cooked breakfast, tea and coffee. Discounts apply to Casey Cardinia Business Group members.
